1. Lightweight, Breathable Clothing
Florida is known for its hot and humid weather, especially in summer. While packing for Universal Studios Orlando, remember to pack lightweight, cute tops that keep you cool.
Cute, Breathable Tops
Shirts like these are a must-have for those sticky days in Orlando!
Cute, Airy Pants
Leave the jeans at home, which can make you hot and sticky. Instead wear breathable, water-resistant bottoms to keep your coolest to enjoy the park.
2. Comfortable Walking Shoes
The average person will walk at least 10,000 steps at a theme park! That being said, comfortable shoes are a MUST-HAVE.
This is not the time to bring out the stilettos, ladies LOL. You can be cute and comfortable with these affordable and breathable slip-on sneakers.
The last time I went to Universal Studios Orlando, I wore my ASICS running shoes and experienced no discomfort while walking.
3. Sun Protection
At this point, you already know what to expect for your day at the theme park. Lots of sun and lots of walking. Ensure you pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to shield yourself from the sun.
4. Rain Ponchos
A lightweight poncho or rain jacket can be a lifesaver if it starts raining while you are in the park.
5. Small Bag/Fanny Pack
Bring a small crossbody bag or fanny pack to carry all your essentials!
6. Reusable Water Bottle
Orlando can get very hot, especially because of the walking and standing in long lines. Stay hydrated by bringing a refillable water bottle.
Pro tip: Bring with you up to 2 Liters of water per person. This will SAVE you from buying EXPENSIVE water while in the park!
7. Snacks
Buying food at Universal Studios Orlando can get expensive for families. Be sure to pack some of your favorite energy-boosting snacks like granola bars, nuts, or fruit.
These crunchy edamame snacks are one of my go-tos!
8. Essential Personal Items
While trying to ensure you have all the extras, sometimes you can forget the basics. Don’t forget to pack your lip balm, wallet, credit cards, and identification. Be sure to bring your cell phone for navigation and a camera to capture all the fun moments.
Pro tip: Download the Official Universal Orlando Resort App. This app is an easy way to make contactless purchases at the park. You can also use this app to:
- Purchase your theme park tickets and Universal Express Passes. Then, scan from the app to redeem.
- Get detailed, interactive maps of the theme parks, Universal CityWalk, and Universal’s hotels.
- Find ride wait times, show times, and dining venue hours.
- Locate all restrooms, including family restrooms.
- Set a parking reminder to be able to locate your car when it’s time to leave.
9. Portable Charger
Don’t forget a portable power bank. You will be surprised how fast being at the theme park will drain your phone battery. Especially if you are taking a bunch of pics and videos.
10. Medications
If you have any medical conditions or need to take medication while on your trip, be sure to pack it in a travel pill case.
This travel case will protect your pill from moisture and dust, so you can take fresh pills while enjoying the park.
11. Hand Sanitizer and Wipes
While at the theme park, you and the kiddos will touch ALOT of surfaces. Maintain good hygiene by carrying hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes.
This travel-size Purell hand sanitizer will do the trick for sure.
12. Change of Clothes
If you’re going on water rides, consider packing an extra set of clothes. Walking around in wet clothes and smelling like Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls the rest of the day is not fun.
Pack an eco-friendly wet bag to have a place for those damp clothes.
13. Portable Fan
Another must-have to beat the heat. I personally prefer a portable neck fan to a handheld fan to have more of a hands-free experience.
14. Stroller
If traveling with young children, bring a stroller or necessary baby gear. I love walking around locations with my UPPAbaby VISTA stroller. It’s very easy to use and not too heavy to carry.
My favorite thing about this stroller is how ample the undercarriage space is. It’s big enough to carry all your essential packing items.
